Splendor of China

This weekend at the Neal Blaisdell Center, Exhibition Hall in Honolulu is the Splendor of China, a Chinese cultural event with food, crafts, and entertainment. Visit the site for times and other details.

I enjoyed last year's event, especially the Changing Face Magician & Sichuan Opera Performers (below). For a few hours I get to reminisce about the time I lived in Beijing and get to practice my Mandarin, which sadly is now quite atrocious. If you're not familiar with the Chinese art of mask changing, I recommend the movie Bian Lian (King of Masks is the English title). It's a great introduction to this amazing art form and a good storyline as well.
